The first references in notarial documents to Monnàber Vell date back to 1236, after the Catalan reconquest. The premises` rustic, fortified character was altered in the seventeenth century, when it was turned into a stately country estate. In 1998, the estate became an agritourism hotel and a meticulous reform was carried out in 2005 to turn the old stable into a restaurant, install a new swimming pool, reform and redesign the terrace and gardens and expand accommodations capacity to 12 rooms. Monnàber Vell Agritourism Hotel nestles in a cosy valley at the foot of the Tramuntana Mountains in the municipality of Campanet in Majorca , only 15 kilometres from the beaches in Pollença and Alcudia. It borders on the east with the fertile plains known as "Es Pla", with Sa Pobla as its agricultural centre and the flourishing grape-growing trade in the environs of Petra, and barely 18 km to the north are the bays of Alcudia and Pollensa with their sandy beaches and coves` crystal-clear waters; a little farther north is Formentor Beach and its well-known lookout point, which offers commanding vistas of the area. A short stroll away is the Chapel of San Miquel, which was constructed after the Catalan conquest in 1229, and the Campanet Caves, which were discovered in 1945.

Monnàber Vell`s morning breakfast buffet features hot and cold dishes with six kinds of espresso coffee (Nespresso) and a wide range of Ronnefeldt teas for infusion lovers. For lunch, there is a selection of snacks with a choice of the following dishes, among others; salads, pasta and typical Majorcan pa amb oli (bread dressed with olive oil and tomato). Guests have a choice of two menus with three dishes each in the evening. Guided cultural tours of the house, followed by samples of the local wines featured on our menu, are offered on a regular basis. Monnàber Vell`s privileged location makes this agritourism hotel the perfect place for sports such as hiking and cycle tourism in the Tramuntana Mountains nearby and golf, long walks in the vicinity and an array of other activities all year round. Just 15 minutes away by car is the coast with the island`s most spectacular beaches and lookout points. A wide range of entertaining activities are available in the beach zones on the coast and all kinds of nautical, water and underwater activities can be enjoyed at the marinas. We organise weddings with up to eighty guests.
